Sooji Chhole Chaat




Ingredients :

  • For Batter:
    1. Semolina ( Sooji ) - 1 Cup
    2. Curd - 1 Cup
    3. Salt - As per taste
    4. Water - 1/4 Cup
    5. Eno Fruit Salt - 1 packet
  • For Filling:
    1. Grated Carrot - 1/4 Cup
    2. Boiled Chickpeas & Potatoes - 1/2 Cup
    3. Chopped Cilantro
    4. Chopped Green Chili
  • For Garnishing:
    1. Green Chutney - 1/4 Cup
    2. Tamarind Chutney - 1/4 Cup
    3. Curd - 1/4 Cup
    4. Finely chopped onion - 2tbsp
    5. Finely chopped tomatoes - 2tbsp
    6. Finely chopped cucumber - 2tbsp
    7. Nylon Sev / Thin Sev - 2tbsp
    8. Finely chopped coriander - 2tsp
    9. Chaat Masala


Process:


  • Take 1 cup semolina , 1 cup curd and 1/2 tsp salt, mix them altogether and make a batter with the help of 1/4 cup of water.
  • Cover it & leave it for 30 mins - 60 Mins.

  • For filling 1/4 cup grated carrot, 1/2 cup boiled chickpeas & potatoes šŸ„” , green chili and finely chopped cilantro.






  • For garnishing 1/4 cup green chutney , 1/4 cup tamarind chutney , 1/4 cup curd, chopped onion, tomato, cucumber , cilantro & chaat masala ( as mentioned above ).

  • In a bowl , take 1 cup of batter & add 1/2 tsp of eno fruit salt , mix them well with the help of few drops of water. 



  • Heat up a sauce pan ( non-stick pan ) on medium flame , add 1/2 tsp oil & some mustard seeds when mustard seed starts cracking then pour half of the batter in sauce pan.


  • Add some filling on top of batter and cover it for 2 mins .


  • After 2 minutes , add other half batter on the filling and cover it for 2 mins again.


  • When it bakes from downside ( will take 2 mins ) then flip it and bake it from other side ( spread some oil )

  • When its done with baking from both side , take it out from sauce pan and cut into 4 pieces , garnish with some tamarind chutney, green chutney , curd , chopped onion, tomatoes , cucumber , thin sev , cilantro and chaat masala.


Your sooji chaat is ready .

Note: 
  1. You can use any kind of semolina (sooji ) for this recipe .
  2. For making batter you can also use 1/2 cup oats powder and 1/2 cup semolina.
  3. You can use any filling (spinach , beetroot )whatever you have at the time of making this dish or you can make it without any filling.
  4. This is the perfect dish for healthy breakfast , snacks or a light dinner .
